Julie is an economist, working internationally, designing and hosting change & innovation processes. Her projects range from long term (multi-stakeholder) innovation labs, to organizational change projects and participatory leadership programs. In all her work Julie tries to create action-oriented learning environments.
Julie is also part of the U.Lab team. “U.Lab: Transforming Business, Society and Self” is a massive open online class or MOOC created and hosted by the Presencing Institute, Edx and MITx (Boston, USA). Her role, in addition to overall coordination, is mainly focused on supporting and connecting people, ideas, communities and hubs, as well as on bringing this format to institutions and corporations.
Julie’s career started in 1998 in international banking (KBC Bank). After a 6-month backpacking trip throughout Latin-America, she switched to communication & strategy in 2000, which led her to becoming an independent facilitator (2005) of creativity and innovation processes in multinational corporations and large institutions like Unilever, TNO and Lekkerland. She later worked for the University of Leuven (Belgium). After participating in the 2-year masterclass of the Presencing Institute, Julie started working for the Presencing Institute, facilitating trainings and labs in several countries like, Brazil, Scotland, China, US and Germany, etc.
Next to u.lab, Julie’s work already included the design and facilitation of leadership programs for high and young potentials in a Belgian bank, long run innovation and change program for the Economic Board of Amsterdam and Utrecht and multi-stakeholder dialogues & trainings in Participatory Leadership at the European Commission, among others.
